Unifi is a VoIP softphone designed to give mobile functionality to On-Premises PBX telephone systems. When Unifi is registered to an On-Premises PBX, users can use Android and Apple mobile phones just like a regular office deskphone extension.

Unifi feature is supported on S-Series IPPBX firmware version 30.2.0.27 or later.

Unifi Mobile Client is designed for On-Premises PBX and Cloud PBX.

  1. Username: the extension number.
  2. Password: the extension’s “User Password”.

The default Unifi service port is 8111. For S-Series PBX users, you can go to web user interface, and go to “Unifi > Port Settings” to change it. For P-Series PBX users, go to “System > Network > Service Ports” to change the port.

Yes, When your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network from the same router of On-Premises PBX, the Unifi local IP address will work. When your phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network from On-Premises PBX or connected to the mobile data, the Unifi public IP address will work.

How to Make Unifi Work in an External Network

To make Unifi work in an external network, you need to forward the following ports in your router:

  • Unifi service port: UDP 8111 and TCP 8111 (default)
  • SIP UDP port: UDP 5060 (default)
  • RTP ports: UDP 10000-12000 (default)

You also need to configure NAT settings to ensure the normal call for remote extensions.
For S-Series IPPBX users, log in to the PBX web user interface, go to:

  1. Settings > PBX > General > SIP > NAT

and configure NAT according to your network environment.

If you are a P-Series user, log in and then go to:

  2. System > Network > Public IP and Ports

    to configure NAT.

No, you don’t need to pay for the outbound call. The outbound call is made through your On-Premises PBX’s trunk.

No.

Now, Unifi uses iLBC codec. The iLBC codec has high quality and high robustness to packet loss. Unifi will support other codes in the later version.

Number Rewriting with On-Premises PBX

Yes, the number rewriting feature needs to work with On-Premises PBX’s outbound route. With this feature, you can utilize your native contacts or call history numbers without having to add new entries.

Configuration Steps

  1. Create an outbound route in your On-Premises PBX:
    • If you would like to add prefix 0, set the outbound route pattern as “”.
    • If you would like to add prefix 9, set the outbound route pattern as “”.
    • And so on.
  2. Choose the desired outbound route on Unifi to call out:
    • Long press the contact’s number or the history number,
    • Choose the newly created outbound route,
    • Unifi will add the prefix automatically and call out.

Please check the following settings:

  1. Make sure the SIP RTP ports are forwarded.
  2. Make sure the configuration on Yeastar On-Premises PBX NAT page is correct.

Yes, Unifi supports logging in using a domain. However, due to possible DNS resolution delay, we suggest that you use a static IP address to ensure the network stability.

You can download and play the recording file on Unifi directly. Go to “Me” -> “Recording” to check your recording files.
